TV

Tanya McRae (C’89) was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award as Senior Producer for the series “Home Made Simple” for OWN!  She has been a producer on the show for three seasons and has been working on a number of other projects, most recently for Lifetime and Syfy.

Robert Gant will make another appearance on the small screen. Best known as his role as Ben on “Queer as Folk”, he will now reprise his character, attorney David Sherman, on “The Young and the Restless”. Tune in this Friday, July 11th to see him in action!

Mathew Burnett (C’91) is Executive Producing a new car show for Discovery’s Velocity Channel called “Garage Squad“.  The premise of this show: “We look for people who love working on their project cars but for whatever reason have gotten stuck.  We help get these cars off the blocks and back on the road, all with a little help from the owners.” Look out for it later this year.

Dan Lin (W’94) and Jennifer Gwartz (C’90) of Lin Pictures recently had their pilot picked up at ABC. The drama, currently titled “Forever”, centers on an immortal NYC medical examiner.  Looks real good!

Tune in tonight (7/8, 10/9 on NBC) for the episode Zach Lutsky (C’97) wrote of “The Night Shift”, with special guest star Steven Bauer (from “Scarface”/”Breaking Bad”).

Rob Forman (W’06) was recently staffed as a writer on the CW’s upcoming series “iZombie”. That’s right, a Whartonite went creative! You may recognize Rob as a former writer for “Army Wives” and  from the series of awesomely informative videos he did on Penntertainment about becoming (and being) a writer in Los Angeles.

Executive Producer and showrunner Mike Sikowitz (C’88) had his show picked up on CBS titled The McCarthy’s. AND it stars another Penn alum Tyler Ritter (C’07).  (Another story we love of Penn alumni working together!)   The comedy centers on a Boston-based sports-crazed family with an athletically challenged son (Ritter).

Drink a highball and check out time mark 2:08 for a special Penn shout out in the video below!

What People Are Saying

"Because of Penntertainment, I got scouted for Nickelodeon. I had such a great time talking with them. I may be a resource for a show on science, travel, geography, gender etc. Thanks for all you do. It really makes a difference."
