Penn Alumni You Should Know About Vol. 22

[ssba]

TV

Vol.22c

In the style of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, Penn alum Donny Deutsch (W’79) plays a fictionalized version of himself in USA Network’s “Donny!”, a semi-scripted comedic series that’s described as a satirical look at the media, wealth, and modern romance. My enthusiasm remains uncurbed for Donny! Yeah!

Vol.22d

New Discovery Channel chief Rich Ross (C’83) announced at the Winter TV press Tour 2015 that he would not continue the network’s trend of telecasting fake stuff. So I guess Mermaids vs. Megalodons is out.

Vanessa Bayer (C’04) is killing it these days! Saturday Night Live, commercials, Judd Apatow movies…is there anything she can’t do?

Watch Vanessa’s Totino’s Super Bowl Commercial:

Check out Vanessa’s Fifty Shades of Grey Elevator Scene:

In an attempt to seduce her own Christian Grey, Vanessa Bayer recreates the infamous elevator scene from Fifty Shades of Grey.

Vanessa also stars in the new Judd Apatow movie Trainwreck. It looks ‘effin hilarious!

And most recently, watch Vanessa as the upbeat media consultant Janessa Slater helping out “Weird Al” Yankovic. Classic!

World Premiere of ''Crazy, Stupid, Love''-New York

If you saw ABC’s “Galavant”, you should know that it was created by Penn alum Dan Fogelman (C’97).  Learn more about him here

Omar Maskati (ENG’11, Mask and Wig) plays a friend of the “person of interest” on the February 17th episode of “Person of Interest”. Omar, you’re only the friend in this episode, but you’re the person of interest to us! Rock on!

Omar can be seen at these points in the episode:

5:00 – 5:35

What People Are Saying

"Because of Penntertainment, I got scouted for Nickelodeon. I had such a great time talking with them. I may be a resource for a show on science, travel, geography, gender etc. Thanks for all you do. It really makes a difference."
-Lisa Niver C’89
