This Penn Alum was the “hot Thai bartender” on “The Young and the Restless”

UPenn and The Young and the Restless and Roy Vongtama

Over the past few years, I’ve been covering the progress of Roy Vongtama (C’96), a real life doctor who has also been “acting” as a doctor on TV.

This week Roy appeared on CBS’s “The Young and the Restless”.

After the jump, check the video clip starring Roy as what he calls “the hot Thai bartender”.   Gotta love the accent he added!

Outside of this, Roy tells me he is rehearsing for a world premiere play at TheatreWest.org called “Goodbye Louie Hello” by Allan Mannings, who created “One Day at a Time”. It opens April 1st thru May 8th! He is also in rehearsals for a film called No Shelter Here in which he plays a homeless man who finds a baby in a dumpster.

Finally there is another big film Roy is involved in but we can’t yet mention it yet, but check back on DT this summer for the scoop!

What People Are Saying

"Because of Penntertainment, I got scouted for Nickelodeon. I had such a great time talking with them. I may be a resource for a show on science, travel, geography, gender etc. Thanks for all you do. It really makes a difference."
