DT correspondent Jonathan Rivera (C’10) was at Penn today (Wednesday) and dishes to DT readers on what he saw being filmed for the Transformers 2 movie and his encounter with Shia LaBeouf!
“It was me and another one of my friends Laura Kelly. We stopped in front of the upper quad gate and there he is. He was wearing a green shirt and carrying a green purse. (?) After that we walked around to the other side of the quad…in front of Leidy Labs. I was trying to sneak in somehow and a member of the crew saw me. We talked with her for a while and she told us that she saw him do Yoga in the morning. She also said that he’s really short in person, but seems nice. We eventually go back to the upper quad gate where we just sit and wait. In that time there were several shots of students with luggage. It looked like they were filming move-in. The crew also brought him a cake for his birthday. After about an hour, he comes out. Surrounded by guards he blazes past us, giving us time for only one picture. As he gets into the car my friend yells, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” He responds, “Thank You.” He’s really short and tan. His hair looked like it had been dyed.”
Max’s story reminds me of when I was busted in front of Tom Hanks when the film Philadelphia was shot at Penn. Read more here!
