Penn Undergrads You Should Know About Vol. 5

Logan Kesel (C’17)

Biology
Atlantic City, NJ.Logan feels most alive when she is on stage. Performing, for Logan, is a freeing experience — therapy, a release. When she is acting, she can lose herself in a character or a song, and that feels good. Her passion for performance began in summer theater camps throughout her childhood, but it wasn’t until her junior or senior year in high school that she realized that she just might be good. On campus, she is involved in
Penn Players,
Dischord (President), and
Penn Singers. One of her proudest moments came during the Penn Singer production of
Sweeney Todd last semester. It was her third semester with the group, and her first lead role at Penn. She is proud that they were able to create “one of the greatest theatrical performance on campus in a while.” Her favorite Penn tradition is when the alumni of the Penn Singers come back, join the current members on stage, and sing “Hail Poetry.” She looks at the alumni and forms a vision of the person she will become. That’s a great feeling!
In the future, Logan hopes to be on Broadway, but she believes that groundbreaking work can happen on any stage. Some of Logan’s favorite plays are The Days Between and A Feminine Ending. She is also inspired by Sutton Foster, a broadway actress, who reminds her that hard work is necessary if you want to perfect your craft.
