PennNYC’s “Navigating your Career through Stormy Financial Times”
Thursday, January 15, 2009
Many Penn alumni are becoming painfully aware of the effects of the current financial downturn. PennNYC created a panel of experts to help alumni navigate this storm – primarily with respect to the job market and individual careers. The panel featured:
• Steven Greenhouse, New York Times workplace reporter and author
of The Big Squeeze: Tough Times for the American Worker. Long before most analysts noticed the downturn, Greenhouse was reporting how troubled our economy looked from the bottom-up
• Marci Alboher C’88, author of One Person/ Multiple Career: The
New Model of Work/Life Success. The job for life has lost its place as a symbol of economic security and now workers realize that it’s up to them to cultivate other income, marketable talents and ways to feel fulfilled
• Moderator Darby Dunn C’88, founder of public relations firm
DarbyDunnCommunications.com and a former news anchor/reporter who worked for CNBC, CNN, and WNBC.
