FILM

Camille DesJardins, daughter of Penn alumni Julie & Steve DesJardins, has been featured in the faith-inspired flick Pass The Light.  As a child with developmental and medical disabilities, Camille has had to work incredibly hard to overcome her challenges.  Please support this inspirational film!  More about Camille here:  www.camilledesjardins.com

Mike Karz (C’89, W’89) and Bill Bindley will produce “King David” under the umbrella of Gulfstream Pictures.  Warner Bros. has optioned the recently published book “David: The Divided Heart” to help create this Biblical epic.  Davids of the world, rejoice!  Your namesake is getting a movie.

Rachel Goldberg (C’96) and her writing partner Jonathan Pope Evans have made it to the quarter-finals for the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship in screenwriting. Their screenplay “Transformation Awaits” has also been selected for the Film Independent Screenwriters Lab. Congrats, guys!

Elizabeth Banks (C’96) and “Community” favorite Donal Glover will join Magic Mike’s sequel, Magic Mike XXL. We’re just jealous that she gets to spend quality time with Channing Tatum.

Michael Kleiman (C’06), Michael Pertnoy (’06), and Samuel Goldberg (C’09) recently debuted their award-winning documentary, WEB.  The film chronicles children in remote villages gaining access to the Internet for the first time. Let’s hope they don’t get too addicted to Facebook like us Americans. Check out a trailer below.

(…Remember the film Michael Kleiman and Michael Pertnoy did that gave us the chills?)

What People Are Saying

"Because of Penntertainment, I got scouted for Nickelodeon. I had such a great time talking with them. I may be a resource for a show on science, travel, geography, gender etc. Thanks for all you do. It really makes a difference."
-Lisa Niver C’89
