Penn Alumni You Should Know About: Vol. 10

[ssba]
Todd Lieberman (C ’95, Mask and Wig) is working on producing a new modern-day Houdini procedural for ABC. The premise involves Houdini pairing with a female detective to solve crimes that are too difficult for the NYPD to solve. How many episodes will it take for Houdini to get romantic with his female co-lead? Only time will tell. Probably not many, though.

Joe Port (C ’97) has just sold a comedy to NBC about a 16-year-old culinary prodigy who nabs a job with a difficult celebrity chef. Sounds delish.

Most of us know John Legend (C’ 99, Counterparts, Sphinx) as Penn’s favorite crooner.  But Legend has it (ha!) that he is now honing his producing skills on a new Showtime comedy about managers in the music industry.

Vanessa Bayer (C ’04, Bloomers, Friars) is about to be the newest guest star on “The Mindy Project”. She will portray Danny’s newest love interest. She also stars in a video called “Sound Advice”, featuring hip band Fun.  Check it out below.  More importantly, though, I hope she reads this blurb because she and Mindy are my heroes and I think we should all hang out sometime. Call me, V. Friar love.

Stephanie Lynn (C’06, Friars) has just wrapped shooting an episode of How I Met Your Mother, according to her Instagram (which we stalk). Check her out in the upcoming final season, and seethe with jealousy at the photo she posted below.

Tyson Ritter (C ’07) appeared on the October 2nd episode of Modern Family as an office worker who helps lower Mitchell out of a wall vent. I don’t know why this happens, but I assure you that you’ll wish you were Ritter in that moment.  Check out the clip below:
