Currently the Lifetime Programming/Production team is a seeking a Summer Intern that is excited to learn how a cable television network oversees the production of scripted television series, original movies, and reality programming. The Production/Programming Department works with other A+E and Lifetime departments such as scheduling, marketing, and publicity to ensure a successful premiere of the movie or series. We’re seeking an ambitious Intern to support the team on various day-to-day administrative tasks as well as:
•Be privy to a variety of production documents exposing them to all facets of the infrastructure of producing a show, including call sheets, one-line schedules, production calendars, and cast lists.
•Learn the production process from start to finish by attending internal meetings, watching cuts, reviewing production documents, and sitting in on production start-up calls.
•Observe the Production executives and staff as they make creative, financial and production-based decisions, learn to breakdown scripts, and review producers’ cuts for scripted series, original movies and reality programming.
•Get a taste of the legal aspects of Production including deal memos, option letters, and all general correspondence
•Work collaboratively or independently as needed
•Possess exceptional organizational skills
•Previous production experience in a past internship is preferredRequired Experience:
Candidate must be a college undergraduate who is entering their sophomore year in 2014 or graduate students having completed at least one semester of post graduate work and preferably have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student must have interest in the industry and/or a specific area of interest through past work experience, internships, and/or major course of study.More here:
