Summer Digital Media and Business Development Intern
JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist Digital Media and Business Development team in the acquisition, distribution, marketing, and monetization of digital content, including movies, television series, original shorts, animation, and others. Work on a variety of projects as needed.Responsibilities:
Assist digital distribution team in primary business functions including- Acquisitions: Pre-screen titles for potential acquisition, work with acquisitions team to identify targets and model finances
- Development: Help manage original development process for original YouTube series
- Marketing: Work with marketing team to develop and execute strategies for maximizing placement and sell-through of current and library titles
- Research and Strategy: Focus on emerging technologies such as second-screen, augmented reality, and transmedia storytelling
Game Development: Assist team in managing game development with external vendors - Financial Analysis and Modeling
- Assist in the delivery and tracking of video to content partners
Contribute to ongoing audience building and social marketing efforts - Work closely with marketing, technology and other functions across Starz Media
Internship is for the SUMMER semester, will run approximately three months.
REQUIRED SKILLS
CANDIDATES MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS TO BE CONSIDERED. SORRY, NO EXCEPTIONS.- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field preferred; MBA degree or candidacy required.
- 4+ years experience in business development, strategic planning, investment banking, consulting, and/or sales
Experience in media/entertainment industries, especially - Internet/digital media, desired
- Comfort with, and strong interest in, technology and new media
- Strong ability to integrate information/analysis into actionable verbal and/or written decision frameworks
- Superior presentation development (PowerPoint), financial skills and sound understanding of business planning/modeling
- Strong interpersonal/client relationship and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrated experience in working within formal / informal team environments
- High energy level, self-motivated and organization skills a must
