What do you love about film? I love film because I like stories. I like seeing them on screen especially because I like seeing how many people work together to tell a story. What are you involved in that allows you to express/explore that? On campus I am the president of Bent Button Productions, the filmmaking club. Otherwise, I have done internships over the summers and basically just watch as many movies as possible.
How’d you get started? I used to read a lot, then I watched a lot of movies, then I made one. It was a silly thing for class during high school, but I loved the process.
What/Who is your biggest inspiration and why? Who do you admire? I mostly get inspiration from movies. Some of my favorite ones are Thelma and Louise, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Alien. I like these movies because they bring something new to well known genres and involve people whose work I admire, ranging from the writers, directors, actors, etc.
What’s your favorite Penn tradition? I was a big fan of the convocation dessert reception freshman year. It was chaotic, but delicious.
